Daniel James is the only reason I’m watching Manchester United this season

With all the doom and gloom surrounding Manchester United this season, Daniel James provides the only light that keeps me tuning in.

Although many Manchester United fans were pessimistic heading into the season, I for one was rather optimistic.

Yes, we didn’t make nearly enough signings as we should have – but the signings we did make were all brilliant ones.

Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire have all instantly improved United’s starting XI.

However, despite these new additions, the Red Devils continue to be absolutely abysmal on the pitch for the large part.

Why is that? Because the squad is still filled with players who aren’t giving it their all, and the ones who are aren’t even good enough to play for United in the first place.

Apart from the 4-0 win against Chelsea, our results this season have been unforgivable, as they could’ve easily been avoided if the players had tried that little bit harder.

However, one player who has been giving it his all and then some is Daniel James.

Although Wan-Bissaka comes in at a close second, James has been our best signing of the summer transfer window.

Despite having a reputation for not being prolific in front of goal, the 21-year-old winger has scored three goals in his first four appearances for United, proving all of his doubters wrong.

The Wales international has already cemented himself as a fan-favourite at Old Trafford and his name will no doubt be sung gleefully from the terraces in the games to come.

If I’m being honest – he’s the only reason I’m watching United this season instead of scrolling through my phone. He’s that much more exciting than his woeful teammates.
