The Belgian-born Brazilian was touted to be the next big thing when he broke into the first team back in 2015, however, Andreas Pereira has flattered to deceive a little.

Some could argue that being shipped out on loan to Spain for consecutive seasons wouldn’t have helped his development. And given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been willing to give him some minutes since arriving in December it does make you wonder, ‘what if?’

There is definitely talent, however, on what we have seen so far it is difficult to commit to either option.

New contract? MAYBE – Based on his ‘potential’. However, needs to make a concrete push for a starting spot soon, as he is already 23. Triggering one-year extension may be best option for now.
