5. Antonio Valencia

Manchester United’s club captain. Possibly one of the most disrupted reigns as captain in the club’s history. Valencia has not had a good time of it recently.

Jose Mourinho questioned his fitness on the preseason tour. Then, the Ecuadorian ‘accidentally’ liked a post on Instagram criticising his manager. Valencia has also picked up five knocks this campaign, making a measly total of eight appearances.

His performances have not exactly been of the high standard we were mesmerised by two seasons ago. Falling so much that Valencia is now behind Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot in the right-back rankings.

New contract? NO – Harsh, given Valencia will have given 10 years service to the club come June but seems right time to go. Club may exercise option of extra year but doubt he will be here post-2020.
