Marcus Rashford’s phenomenal game by numbers against Fulham at Old Trafford in the Premier League

Marcus Rashford arguably had his best performance of the season against Fulham at Old Trafford on Saturday. But just how good was Manchester United’s number 10?
Take a bow, Marcus Rashford.
It hasn’t always worked out for the young forward this season, but he proved that he can produce moments of brilliance in Manchester United’s 4-1 win over Fulham on Saturday.
Let’s start off with Rashford’s two assists. Although his first for Ashley Young’s terrific curled effort was routine, his second was a brilliant cutback to find Juan Mata, who tucked it home neatly.
The England international created five chances in total on Saturday – more than any other player on the pitch – showing that he has become more of a team player in recent games.
His overall passing ability was also great today, managing 27 accurate passes in total for a success rate of 79 per cent.
However, most impressive from Marcus Rashford tonight was his goal in the 82nd minute. What a hit! The shot from outside the box was so powerful Sergio Rico didn’t have any time to react – letting it in at his near post.
His other attacking stats were also quite impressive. Rashford managed five shots all game with four of them being on target – showing that he’s definitely eager to add more goals to his game.
Since the 21-year-old was playing on the wing instead of up top this time around, his dribbling had to be on point. He attempted eight dribbles in total with three of them being successful – showing he definitely isn’t afraid to take his man on.
All in all, the Fulham game was a great opportunity for Rashford to showcase his talents to Jose Mourinho ahead of our upcoming game against Liverpool.
And after that performance, the young forward has almost certainly sealed his place in the starting XI at Anfield.
