Midfielders

Fred – 6

In Pogba’s absence, the Brazilian was tasked with being United’s playmaker from deep – a role he struggled with at times. Still, Fred showed great work rate to rush back and make some crucial tackles – he just needs to add more end product to his game.

Nemanja Matic – 6

The Serbian has been a liability at holding midfield this season. Although he was much better this time around, he is still way too slow and poor in possession. Against a tougher opponent, the scoreline could’ve been very different indeed…

Marouane Fellaini – 8

The man of the hour – Fellaini has saved United countless times over the years. His goal wasn’t even the most impressive part of his game tonight – it was his touch, control and underrated passing ability which proved that he isn’t nearly as bad as some critics – including many fans – point him out to be.
