A late goal by Marouane Fellaini drags Manchester United past Young Boys at Old Trafford and into the knockout stages of the Champions League. However, the overall performance was poor – so expect some harsh ratings to follow…

Well, Manchester United didn’t exactly qualify for the Champions League knockout stages in style – but I’ll take it.

Heading into added time with the scoreline at 0-0, I expected a repeat of the goalless draw against Crystal Palace on the weekend.

However, on the brink of defeat, Marouane Fellaini saved the day yet again for the Red Devils after a knockdown by Romelu Lukaku from a Paul Pogba cross, which the Belgian neatly tucked away.

Was there a hand involved? Maybe… but we United fans have been deserving of a break for a while now – so I couldn’t care less.

Nevertheless, since the overall performance was abysmal and deserving of a draw or even a loss, the post-match ratings will have to be harsh. Carry on reading to find out how well – or how badly – Jose Mourinho’s men fared under our microscope…
