Mourinho must set the team up to play on the front foot
Although the players have to play with confidence, the manager is ultimately the one who has to set them up to play expansive football in the first place.
In previous games against the top six, Mourinho has had us parking the bus for the whole 90 minutes, hoping to hit the opposition on the counter – and it has rarely ever worked.
In last season’s fixture, we parked the bus in the first half and conceded two goals. In the second half, we started to actually get at City and managed to score three times. If Mourinho has us playing like that from minute one, who’s to say we can’t get a convincing win on Sunday?
However, Guardiola’s side won’t make things easy for us…
