Players must play with the same confidence as against Juventus

Before the Juventus game, I wrote that the Red Devils must attack from minute one and play at the front foot throughout the game. And what do you know, the players went ahead and did just that!

I was shocked at how much possession United had against the Italian giants on their own turf and how we moved the ball around with style and confidence against such experienced opposition.

If we can do it against one of the very best in Europe and win, why can’t we play like that against our rivals across the city? Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez are playing well together up front and will likely start against City – even if Romelu Lukaku returns from injury.

The players should ride the momentum from the Juve game into this one and play in the exact same fashion. They know they have it in them to dictate the tempo of the game, so there’s no reason to start parking the bus again.
