Midfield

Paul Pogba – 6

The Frenchman was underwhelming on his return to Turin. Pogba perhaps let the occasion get the better of him, as the Juventus fans gave their ex-player a great reception, making it an emotional return for the midfielder. He struggled to get involved in the game, and whenever he did, he kept losing the ball. His unnecessary showboating could’ve come back to haunt United…

Nemanja Matic – 6

The Serbia international continues to look rusty. He got an unnecessary yellow card early on in the game and didn’t share the defensive responsibilities with Ander Herrera very well. Whatever you think about Matic’s ability as a defensive midfielder, you have to agree that he’s in dire need of a rest.

Ander Herrera – 7

Herrera was a much bigger presence in this game than Fred was in the same position in the Red Devils’ previous outing. And that’s saying something, considering the Brazilian played away against Bournemouth whereas the Spaniard played away against Juventus! The fiery midfielder sured up the midfield well and kept United’s attacks going. He deserves to keep his place in the starting XI ahead of Fred for now.
