After an embarrassing defeat at Old Trafford, Manchester United now face Juventus on their home turf. The odds are against the Red Devils – but that doesn’t mean they should just give in to the Old Lady.

Manchester United fans will be expecting the worst on Wednesday.

That 1-0 defeat to Juventus at home in the Champions League group stages last month was a disgrace.

I was pretty harsh on many of the Red Devils in my player ratings after the game, which was completely justified. Losing to a top European side isn’t the end of the world, but downing tools and getting dominated at home is completely unacceptable regardless of the calibre of the opposition we’re up against.

Jose Mourinho’s men have a chance to redeem themselves when they face the Old Lady again in Turin this time. Nobody is expecting us to defeat the Italian giants on their home turf – but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t at least try.

A spineless performance by United on Wednesday could lead to an embarrassing scoreline. It’s in Mourinho’s best interest to avoid this, as his tenure at United isn’t looking very stable right now. Losing to Juventus again could end up being the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Now then, what will it take for Manchester United to pull off a major upset on Wednesday? Carry on reading to find out…
