Ander Herrera (56′) – 6

United looked much more comfortable when Herrera came on to sure things up in midfield. Although he did miss two big chances by hitting it wide on both occasions, he nevertheless showed why he should be starting ahead of Matic at defensive midfield. He is much more agile and better on the ball than the Serbian will ever be.

Marcus Rashford (56′) – 7

Rashford showed a lot of energy when he came on to revitalise United’s attack in the second half. However, his dreadful miss in front of a practically open net was inexcusable, showing that the youngster still has a lot of growing to do before he can be trusted as our starting striker. Nevertheless, he finally put the ball in the back of the net in the 92nd minute, showing why he shouldn’t be written off just yet.

Jesse Lingard (78′) – 6

Lingard has been out of the squad through injury for a while and it showed when he came on late in the game. He could have grabbed the winner soon after coming on but lacked his usual killer instinct in front of goal. He still has a lot of work to do before he can regain his knack for making the right runs at the right time and getting into dangerous positions.
