PLAYER RATINGS: Scores of 8 after Manchester United’s late comeback against Bournemouth in the Premier League

Midfield
Paul Pogba – 7
When United were constantly being hounded by Bournemouth in the first half, the Frenchman was nowhere to be seen. He needs to learn to come deeper to win back the ball instead of waiting for one of his teammates to do so. Nevertheless, when United started to play on the front foot in the second half, Pogba was electric and managed to assist the winner with a fantastic cross from the left wing, showing why is he still our most important outfield player.
Nemanja Matic – 5
Matic was poor yet again this week. I was surprised to see Fred come off for Ander Herrera in the second half, as the Serbian was by far the worst player on the pitch. He was way too static in the middle of the pitch and did little to prevent Bournemouth from bombarding us throughout the game. Mourinho must end his favouritism towards the player he managed at Chelsea all those years ago and should start playing Herrera in the holding midfield role for United.
Fred – 6
The Brazilian midfielder put in a solid performance at the Vitality Stadium. He played it simple when he needed to but was not afraid to attempt the more ambitious pass when it was necessary. However, the midfielder must take responsibility for failing to equalise for United early on when he squandered an easy chance right in front of goal.
