It may seem strange to include a player who was not included in the match day 18 against Bournemouth but that is precisely the point. Eric Bailly isn’t injured as far as we are aware. The United defender just hasn’t been selected recently.
Yes, Manchester United’s centre-back pairing of Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof have formed a good understanding of late, but yesterday, Phil Jones, who has just returned form injury, was preferred to Bailly on the bench as United’s back up centre-half.
That cannot be a good sign for Bailly who must surely consider his future if he continues to be looked over.
