As Alexis Sanchez headed home the winner on Saturday evening, the Manchester United fans across the globe lept for joy, the Newcastle fans wept evermore. The contrasting emotions of a rollercoaster match are difficult to summarise in five questions and answers, but we gave it a go with FanSided Newcastle Toons.

QUESTION 1

What a blistering start from Newcastle, what were your thoughts after the first 10 mins and the score at 2-0?

@CarsonAMerk (NT): I was shocked and honestly, expecting a meltdown. It was such a positive start and seemed too good to be true.

@ol14__ (RDA): I expected United to be a bit more energised in their attack due to noise levels in the stands and Newcastle to dig in and really sit deep. However, Rafa Benitez’s men flew out the blocks.

Personally, I felt it was never going to turn hostile in the crowd at 2-0. The fans had Mourinho’s back due to those reports in the paper on Friday night, but I expected a response from the players and we only got one in the second half.
