Jose Mourinho is right. Phil Bardsley knew what he was doing and Rashford was naive in the way he reacted. Although I have some sympathy for the young Englishman as Bardsley’s kick out was worthy of a straight red on its own.
It’s even more frustrating for Rashford considering for the first time in while when coming off the bench in a United shirt, he looked dangerous and full of confidence.
You could look at the three games he will miss, Watford, Wolves and Derby (Carabao Cup) and think, at least it’s not a top six side. But these are games where Jose Mourinho may have given more minutes to the likes of Anthony Martial, Andreas Pereira and Rashford. Therefore, it’s a big blow.
