Jesse Lingard – 8.5

Lingard was crucial to Manchester United’s fluent attacking play in the first half. Due to width provided by Antonio Valencia, he was able to drift inside and link up closely with Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.

Like Pogba his versatility to then play on the counter-attack in the second half meant he was just as influential. Due to his adaptability, he is currently Manchester United’s second most important attacker.

Romelu Lukaku – 9

Manchester United’s most important attacker is this man. Romelu Lukaku proved his weight in gold on Sunday. Not only did he snap up two golden chances, but his link-up play with both Lingard and Sanchez was crucial to the team sustaining attacks on Burnley’s goal.

Another man whose influence did not wain in the second half. In fact, in terms of involvement in clear-cut chances, he will be annoyed at himself for not bagging a hat-trick besides the debate of whether or not he should have taken the penalty.

Alexis Sanchez – 8.5

Sanchez was back to his best against Burnley, producing his most confident display in a United shirt to date despite being unfairly hauled off after the hour mark.

Similarly to Lingard the forward linked up with Lukaku really well and if the three are allowed to continue playing on the front foot and pressing their opponents they could become the clubs first exciting threesome since Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez.
