Manchester United agree to 80 million price tag for Lazio midfielder

According to The Sun, Manchester United agreed to the 80 million euro price tag they placed upon Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. This will make for Jose Mourinho’s first summer signing.

Looking at Manchester United’s midfield, the team needs a spark. Additionally, Mourinho turns to Savic to provide that spark in the midfield. Furthermore, the signing of Savic will make for the second Serbian to find themselves on the Manchester United team.

For almost the whole season, the Serbian midfielder finds himself linked with numerous clubs. Moreover, rumors out of Old Trafford state that the English giants will sign Savic for 80 million, making him the second most expensive player in the Premier League.

The 23 year old found himself scoring 13 goals for Lazio this season, an impressive stat for a midfielder. The Sun states that the club was reluctant to splash the cash, but Mourinho took his chances, and the Serbian could make a huge impact at United in the coming years.

Savic found the net eleven times in Serie A, and he assisted three times. In addition to his efforts in the Serie A, he found the net twice and assisted three times in the Europa League. For a midfielder, he works hard to get the job done for Lazio. The Serbian could match his efforts for Manchester United next season.

How would he line up in Mourinho’s starting eleven?

Savic would most likely lineup in front of his national team teammate, Nemanja Matic. Savic would provide plenty of support in the attack, given his goalscoring abilities in multiple competitions. For instance, No Manchester United midfielder finds themselves with thirteen goals this season, as most goals come from Romelu Lukaku.

In fact, Manchester United has not had a goal scoring midfield of this caliber since the departure of Paul Scholes. Savic will be a game changer to next season’s Manchester United team.
