Manchester United’s biggest signings in recent seasons is Paul Pogba. Yet, the Frenchman is not a first choice midfielder for Jose Mourinho.
Any Manchester United supporter is aware of Pogba’s big social media presence. Furthermore, some say that he must focus on delivering high-caliber performances.
In recent weeks, rumors circulate that Manchester United is going to sell the French star in order to secure signings from Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus, according to the Mirror.
After only a few seasons, Pogba has not performed to Mourinho’s expectations. As a direct result, the boss has no choice but to seek talent elsewhere.
Who could Mourinho be targeting at Real Madrid?
Additionally, rumors are circulating that Mourinho could be chasing Toni Kroos. Real Madrid currently retains Kroos on their roster, but Mourinho looks to change that. Statistically, Kroos is one of the world’s best midfielders. In 22 appearances in La Liga, the German international has four goals and six assists. In addition, he manages to keep a 92 percent pass completion rate.
Also, Mourinho aims to secure Raphael Varane’s signature in the selling of Pogba. Manchester United’s defense still needs a key player to solidify their back line, and Varane could be the man for the job. Varane has 21 appearances in La Liga, managing over a thousand playing minutes. Evidently, the French international is a reliable defender.
Which players will Mourinho target at Paris Saint-Germain?
Marquinhos is another defender that the boss has his eye on. In Ligue 1, the Brazilian has 19 appearances. In total, he also has 2 assists. Mourinho looks to add defenders to the team that can contribute in attack as well as defense.
As a replacement for Pogba, rumors circulate that Mourinho could also be searching for Marco Verratti’s signature. The French defensive mid manages 20 appearances in Ligue 1, playing over a thousand minutes. In addition, Verratti has 3 assists in domestic competition. While Kroos would be a solid replacement, Verratti is the type of player Manchester United needs to replace Pogba.
Juventus is home to some of the world’s best players. Who could Mourinho poach from the Italian giant?
Alex Sandro is a long time target of Jose Mourinho’s. The Brazilian initially played as a left-back, but he lines up as a winger for Juventus. It is possible that Mourinho could win his signature, and he could convert him back into a left back. In 17 appearances for Juventus, Sandro has three goals and four assists.
