United’s 2016-17 Player of the year was speaking on the importance of the match to the club’s official site. Herrera thinks his side can bounce back after two straight disappointing weeks.

"“Sometimes, during the season, you have one or two really bad games and Huddersfield was one of them. We want to forget, we want to look forward, we want to get good feelings and now we are playing against a top team like Tottenham.”"

It’s a colossal matchup this weekend. Both teams have been trending in opposite directions. A huge win at home could get Manchester United back on track.

“After the Huddersfield game, I said you want to play as quickly as possible again like we did against Swansea,” Herrera added.

The Spaniard made a great point. The stagnant movement seemed to be a thing of the past in the Carabao Cup clash in the midweek.

Our younger players brought a lively energy to the game — something we’ve been missing for the past month.

Manchester United will look to carry that momentum against Spurs, who could be without star striker Harry Kane.

"“There are good feelings and let’s move forward, let’s try to win against Tottenham, because it’s not going to be easy. We have a massive game on Saturday and we need to win.”"

Herrera, sadly, has failed to impress this year. And with Paul Pogba missing the last six weeks of the season, he hasn’t stepped to the opportunity presented to him.

However, Pogba and Marouane Fellaini look like they won’t start Saturday’s match, and Herrera could once again step up in a huge match. Don’t put it past him — just remember his fantastic performance against Chelsea last season at home.

Despite his struggles, there is no doubt that Herrera loves the club. He’s hopeful that a huge win can reboot the title challenge that they were so involved in before last week’s loss.

“We want to finish fighting for every title and the only way we can do that is with everyone being together as a team, a club and fans, so we need them.”

Manchester United haven’t lost to Tottenham in back to back matches for 37 years. Herrera is determined to not let that streak end Saturday. This is only match week 10, the stakes are sky-high in the vital clash.
