If you have followed Zlatan on his social media pages, you would have seen several training videos. /

That goes to show just how quick he can recover from serious injuries.

He said:

"“I have trained every day since I had my knee operated on, there is no vacation.”"

Ibrahimovic had a great 2016/17 season for United after scoring 28 goals and assisting 10.

Many thought that his career was over after suffering such an injury at the age of 36.

Besides, he was only on a one-year contract with the option a one-year extension, making it was highly likely that he would retire at the end of the season.

Much to our surprise, Jose Mourinho activated the contract extension and re-signed him for a second season.

Although there were mixed reactions to this, you have to agree that having the Swede in your team is beneficial in many ways, on and off the pitch.

Zlatan’s Ibrahimovic is important for the club off the pitch just as much as he is on the pitch.

The presence of the Swede itself is really important to the team, especially to the youngsters such as Marcus Rashford and Axel Tuanzebe.

On the pitch, he either score goals or set them up.

There are few players that play with Zlatan’s intelligence. He holds up the ball perfectly when needed and either release them at the right timing or goes for the shot himself.

It will be interesting to see how Mourinho’s starting XI will look like after Zlatan returns. Ibrahimovic will most likely face competition with Romelu Lukaku, United’s new No. 9.
