After a tough 2016-17 season, Anthony Martial has hit the ground running this season.

Martial already has seven goal and four assists for Manchester Untied this campaign, and he’s ready to continue to ‘tear it up.’

“I had some problems off the pitch [last season] that played in my head. I wasn’t really focused,” Martial told Telefoot. “But now when I go out onto the pitch, I want to tear it up.

“… I want to tear it up.”

“Some people forget my age. Given my talent, they expected me to explode earlier.”

Martial gives United fans a reminder with that statement. He’s just 21-years old. He is young and he will go through up and downs. Last season he struggled, but this season he has been the player that won the 2015 Golden Boy award.

He seems to have beaten out Marcus Rashford for the starting left-wing position, forcing Rashford out right. When United play with Martial, Rashford, and Romelu Lukaku all in the same team they are extremely terrifying. However, we have only seen it twice from Mou so far this season.

Martial has been compared to Thierry Henry. The similarities are obvious.

The 21-year old can dribble past defenders like they’re stuck in quick sand. He has an eye for goal, and he is clinical when he has space in the box.

His pace is electric, and when the attacking trident of LMR finally clicks, United will be lethal for years to come.

And despite a rocky season last year in Mourinho’s debut season, Martial said the two now have a good relationship.

“But we got to know each other, we’ve talked a lot, and now it’s going well.”

The Frenchman has more than recaptured his first-season form. He’s playing at an even higher level.

In the 2015-16 season he was Manchester United’s only true scoring threat. He was the focus, the man focal point. However, this United team is loaded with offensive firepower, and it’s forcing Martial to adapt and become a much more rounded player.

He’s finally adapted and it’s paying dividends. The scary thing is he’s only 21. He will get much, much better.
