Manchester United have announced their official squad numbers for the upcoming 2014/2015 season, with one huge change.

Youngster Adnan Januzaj has ditched his No.44 shirt and taken the iconic No.11 shirt, worn by Ryan Giggs for the last 25 years before his retirement this summer. Reports suggest the new assistant manager told Januzaj he was the man to take over the shirt and the Belgium international glady accepted the honour.

Summer signings Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera have been given the No.3 and No.21 shirts respectively, taking over from the departed Patrice Evra and Angelo Henriquez.

Man of the moment James Wilson has switched from No.47 to No.49 while Tyler Blackett and Reece James have kept their No.42 and No.41 shirts from the US Tour. Nick Powell has been handed the No.22 shirt, last worn by Paul Scholes, while Anderson has been given Alex Buttner’s old No.28 shirt. The rest of the squad numbers remain the same from last season.
